The Latte Art is a one-to-one competition throwdown, of 12 competitors, 6 winners go to the next round and two best losers by points.
In first round competitors draw in big cups (latte) – 12 competitors
In second round competitors pour latte art in big cups (latte) – 8 competitors
In semi-finals competitors pour latte art in middle cups (cappucino) – 4 competitors
In finals competitors pour latte art in small cups (espresso) – 2 competitors
In first and second round competitors draw one of basic patterns: heart, tulip or rosetta in two cups and give the best one infont to judges. In semifinals and finals competitors draw also advanced pattern swan.
Organiser of competition will draw the order of competition pairs in first round and before each next round. Winner of each pair goes into next round until we get winner.
Competitor has 3 minutes of time to pour randomly selected pattern. Spilled milk is treated as a mistake. When competitor serves both cups in front of judge and puts his hand in air, time stops. Then he has 2 minute to clean working space.
There are milk pitchers provided by organiser (0,25l, 0,5l, 0,75l), but competitor can compete with his own milk pitchers.
Competitor has to use Red Carpet Blend by Stow Coffee Rosters and milk from general sponsor of competition, Professional Barista Mleko, Ljubljanske Mlekarne.
Competition will be judged by two judges and will be scored in five categories with points from 1 to 5:
If competitor serves dirty cup and/or spills milk he loses 2 points per cup.
